Cochineal is an innovative educational forum and marketplace dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional techniques for creating paints, coatings, and dyes. At its core, Cochineal offers open-source recipes that teach the historical and sustainable methods of color production, ensuring these time-honored practices remain alive and accessible.
The main focus was to create a mobile native version that could help teach, distribute and acquire kits, knowledge and best practices. Later on the goal was to extend the app to a desktop web version that could work to advertise its mobile app and help extend the information and knowledge.

The project began with a native mobile version, designed to prioritize education on the go. This approach was essential to capture the needs of a modern, mobile-first audience, enabling users to learn and engage with the content anytime, anywhere. The success of the mobile platform laid the foundation for the subsequent adaptation of a desktop version, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience across devices.
